Nvidia overtakes Microsoft: The new queen of the global stock market!

Nvidia, the chip giant, now dethrones Microsoft as the world’s most valuable company, becoming the new rising star in the stock market. The group owes this meteoric rise to its wise betting on artificial intelligence.

Nvidia takes the lead in the stock market

The market capitalization of Nvidia reached a stratospheric level of 3.34 trillion dollars on Tuesday, driven by its prominent role in designing essential technologies that fuel the rapid rise of artificial intelligence.

A 3.7% surge in Nvidia’s stock price enabled the graphics semiconductor giant to dethrone Microsoft, relegating the former leader to a valuation of 3.33 trillion dollars. A spectacular jump for Nvidia, which was still in second place worldwide just a few months ago.

According to Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, “Advances in artificial intelligence and accelerated computing are catalyzing a profound and cross-sector transformation.” 

Nvidia has embraced this disruption by customizing its chips to meet the exponential demand for massively parallel computing power essential for training cutting-edge AI systems.

Strategic partnerships and new flagship products 

In recent months, Nvidia has multiplied partnerships with technology leaders like Google, Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI to strengthen its AI ecosystem. The group also unveiled its Blackwell chip in March, promising increased performance for training next-generation AI models.

Nvidia is also betting big on robotics by developing ambitious projects like Groot and Jetson Thor, aiming to realize “generalized humanoid robotics“. “Ultimately, every mobile object will be roboticized“, predicts Jensen Huang.

In short, with quarterly revenues of 22.1 billion dollars, a spectacular increase of 265% over a year, Nvidia is riding the AI tsunami to reach unprecedented heights. In dethroning Microsoft, the former number one, Nvidia shows its voracious appetite for dominating this strategic market.
