Week 27: Cardano (ADA), an all-round blockchain performer

The Cardano team periodically shares data on the progress of its projects. For the week of July 3, updates focused on blockchain core technology, smart contracts, wallets, scaling and also education. Close-up!

Cardano, a performance-rich week 27

The SEC’s announced attack on some 50 altcoins, including ADA, has created dark clouds over the crypto-sphere. Fortunately, there are enthusiasts like ITC Crypto CEO Benjamin Cowen, who has predicted a positive long-term trajectory for the cryptocurrency.

After looking around the aforementioned site, we identified the following progress.

Core technology

During this period, the DB Sync team accelerated the development and validation of the Conway integration design with DB-Sync. At the same time, the UTXO-HD functionality branches were tested and prepared for improved reliability.

Wallets and services

In this area, the Lace team has done a remarkable job on cardano-js-sdk. This was achieved by updating TxBuilder to enable funds to be delegated to any stake address.

The team has also made progress on the development of the Lace browser application. We are approaching the release of version V.1.3. Improving the responsiveness of Trezor support is part of Cardano’s development.

Smart contracts

Concerning smart contracts, the Plutus team focused on improving BLS support in Plutus TX. The team also implemented “execution monitoring for Marconi Sidechain”. In the near future, it plans to make the stand-alone emulator available with a true Cardano node socket client.

The Marlowe and Plutus teams are also planning the official launch of Marlowe in Lisbon this week.

Basho scaling

On the scaling front, the Hydra team has announced major advances in Layer 2 protocol enhancements. Version 0.11.0 will be released soon.

In addition, the Mithril team has implemented a “new 2327.0-PRE pre-release distribution and launched tests of the new production signatory deployment model with Pioneer SPOs”. It had also focused on fixing bugs “that sporadically prevented the last signatory record of an SPO to be used in the associated signature epoch”.

Voltaire

The establishment of an initial Minimum Viable Governance (MVG) framework appears to be on track. This ensures the advancement of participatory governance within the Cardano ecosystem.

Catalyst

Over 300 proposals were submitted to Fund10. The Catalyst project will soon see the release of a new version of a mobile application.

Education

Cardano has a specialized Education team currently involved in planning the Haskell course. It is also behind a webinar on Cardano’s fundamentals for Milken Institute alumni.

Will ADA collapse soon? Time will tell. In any case, Cardano is doing well.
