Considered to be the most important crypto, Bitcoin continues to spread to the four corners of the globe. The adoption of this crypto even extends to the level of institutions and governments, raising questions. What if it were to influence the global financial system?

Bitcoin VS traditional currency
The number of Bitcoin crypto holders exceeds the total population of Spain

In brief:

  • The number of bitcoin holders surpasses 48 million
  • Crypto interests the general public, institutions and governments alike

BTC ownership surpasses 48.5 million

Despite BTC’s extremely volatile price, the crypto is gaining more and more followers. According to Glassnode, the community of Bitcoin holders has passed the 48.5 million mark. This number would exceed Spain’s total population of 47.5 million. This is a remarkable peak compared to the estimated 10 million holders a few years ago.

One reason for Bitcoin’s meteoric rise is the growing popularity of crypto exchanges. For others, this cryptocurrency currently represents a secure reserve value. Especially as its price has risen sharply compared with just a few years ago. Of course, bitcoin is also of interest to many crypto investors because of its earnings potential.

Crypto Bitcoin: Soon to be a major player in global finance?

For crypto analysts, the considerable growth in the number of Bitcoin holders is more than just a statistic. It represents a significant turning point in global finance. The adoption of Bitcoin as a legal and legitimate investment reflects growing confidence in the crypto.

And it’s not just the general public who are embracing bitcoin. It extends to the institutional and governmental levels. Leaders are increasingly recognizing the value of this crypto. The proof: they are introducing financial products such as Bitcoin ETFs into their systems.

Admittedly, the number of Bitcoin crypto holders is still small in relation to the world’s population. But if this growth continues, it will gain ground to become an internationally recognized currency.
