A few months ago, Changpeng Zhao left his position as CEO of Binance, the exchange giant, following a settlement with the US justice. Today, after a long period of absence on social networks, he returns to the spotlight with Giggle Academy, an innovative educational project that aims to offer free access to basic education for everyone.

In a tweet published on March 18, CZ reveals his vision: a fun and adaptive learning platform, non-profit. “Building a high-quality educational platform, completely free and accessible to everyone“, remains the stated goal in the concept document of Giggle Academy.

Giggle Academy is not intended to replace traditional schools. However, this project aims to offer better prospects for young people in regions where access to education is limited.

As CZ explains, this is not about sending “a 13-year-old child to a university in a developed country”. The goal is rather to enable that child “to get a better job, which they otherwise would not have been able to obtain”.

From Binance to Giggle Academy: CZ’s Educational Gamble

Giggle Academy positions itself as a platform without an economic model, a philanthropic project for CZ after building his fortune in cryptocurrencies. For the moment, Giggle Academy has posted three job offers, related to content creation and game development.

The main challenge will be to make the platform accessible despite the Internet limitations in some regions. CZ considers partnerships, highlighting that “most rural villages have at least some connection“.

This project marks a new chapter for Changpeng Zhao, a few months after his forced departure from Binance. Although the details of his scheduled conviction at the end of April are not known, he seems determined to have a positive impact.

This is not the first time Changpeng Zhao has announced a project since he left the leadership of Binance. Indeed, last November, he had already mentioned on Twitter his desire to invest in a research project, combining crypto with medical or biotechnological research, like Etica.

In short, with Giggle Academy, CZ continues on this path of using technology for social purposes. There is no doubt that the evolution of this educational platform will be closely followed, given the notoriety of its founder.
