The Foundation also managed to propel ADA onto a dozen new exchanges. Let’s discover together the highlights of this report.
Cardano, more devoted than ever to blockchain development
Since its creation, the Cardano Foundation has been dedicated to promoting the evolution of the Cardano infrastructure worldwide. They are bringing together actors from diverse backgrounds. Last year, it even found an ally for its cause: the National Wine Agency of Georgia.
On April 18th, the Cardano Foundation released its annual report for the year 2022, proudly unveiling its accomplishments. The report highlights the Foundation’s technical support for the Cardano infrastructure. It reveals the dissemination of knowledge through its educational program.
Indeed, the report reveals that the Foundation provided technical support for the integration of ADA on more than a dozen exchanges. It includes Coinberry, WealthSimple, Bitget, and Bitrue.
Commenting on the publication of the report, Cardano Foundation CEO Frederik Gregaard emphasized the creation of a responsible and welcoming environment for individuals and organizations passionate about reliable relationships. He also unveiled the Foundation’s long-term strategy, which aims to encourage ecosystem growth.
We envision a world where the technological infrastructures are made for transparency and accountability, so that all stakeholders can easily verify their interactions within any system. Only in this way can we help improve the lives of all.
Key areas of intervention
The Cardano Foundation worked tirelessly throughout 2022 to achieve its ultimate goal: contributing to the development of blockchain. According to the annual report, the Foundation focused its efforts on three key areas.
The first Cardano Summit, held in 2022, was one of the highlights of the year. This major event aimed to strengthen the community. But also to attract worldwide attention to bring together the ecosystem and invite new members. The summit took place in over 50 different locations around the world and attracted over 30,000 passionate participants.
The annual report highlights the three main areas of the organization’s intervention: operational resilience, education, and adoption. These three fields of action were at the heart of all the events organized by the Foundation. We will detail them in the following points.
Operational resilience
In addition to supporting the integration of ADA on exchanges, the Cardano Foundation also worked to improve the operational resilience of the network. This included supporting the Vasil hard fork, which introduced a number of improvements to the Cardano protocol.
Furthermore, the Foundation also worked to improve the Cardano Improvement Proposal (CIP) process. This process is used to propose and implement protocol changes.
In addition, the Foundation released the Decentralized Application Backend (DAB) solution. It facilitates the deployment of decentralized applications to interact with smart contracts on Cardano.
The education program
The Cardano Foundation is committed to educating the public about blockchain technology through several initiatives. In addition to launching a new online training course, it participated in events and conferences. Their goal was to promote Cardano and blockchain technology.
In 2022, the Foundation collaborated with universities and policymakers to facilitate a deeper understanding of blockchain. According to the report, the Alpha program of blockchain courses was launched online. The Foundation continues to work to improve the learning experience.
In addition, the Foundation is preparing a series of technical facilitators. They want to create bridges between the blockchain and current financial and social systems. The Cardano Foundation hopes that more people, institutions, and organizations can realize the potential of the blockchain. By joining their journey as citizens of the blockchain.
In 2022 our team engaged with policymakers, businesses, students, and the general public. The Foundation not only collaborated with universities but also participated in high level policy discussions with representatives from Brussels, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America, as well as with members of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and the World Bank.
Blockchain adoption
The Foundation continues its goal of promoting blockchain adoption. Through partnerships with leading organizations, including:
- The Swiss Refugee Council
- The National Wine Agency of Georgia
- Veritree
- The University of Zurich
These partnerships include a variety of organizations, including businesses, international institutions, government agencies, environmental NGOs, and prestigious universities.
Through these collaborations, the Foundation hopes to advance blockchain adoption. It also wants to contribute to the development of sustainable solutions for the future. In addition, the Foundation has developed tools such as Kupo v2 and Ogmios to facilitate this adoption.
A bright future ahead
The Cardano Foundation has reason to rejoice in its fruitful 2022. The significant progress it has made in supporting the development and adoption of Cardano bodes well for the future of this blockchain. With such momentum, the Foundation is well positioned to continue its work in 2023. And beyond, paving the way for a new era of blockchain innovation.
Moreover, the results of the “State of Cardano Q1 2023” report for the first quarter are impressive, offering promising prospects for ADA. But let’s not get too carried away, the future is always uncertain and holds many surprises!
