BlackRock, the investment giant, is establishing itself as an essential reference for Bitcoin acquisition. Since the beginning of the year, the firm led by Larry Fink has accelerated at a pace that few other companies can match. Already, its Bitcoin ETF has accumulated more than 500,000 BTC, representing a fortune estimated at 48 billion dollars. Let’s dive into the details of this performance and its implications.

BlackRock: The absolute master of BTC?

The Bitcoin news: with its iShares Bitcoin ETF (IBIT), BlackRock now holds 2.38% of all BTC in circulation, or more than 500,000 units. This massive accumulation strategy makes the ETF one of the most sought-after investment vehicles, even surpassing the historical leader MicroStrategy.

Why this enthusiasm? The IBIT offers a convenient solution to access bitcoin without worrying about the hassles related to taxation or custody. Note that:

  • 500,380 BTC are now managed by BlackRock, valued at 48 billion $;
  • This represents 2.38% of the total quantity of bitcoin (out of 21 million available);
  • Bitcoin ETFs, excluding Grayscale Bitcoin Trust, attract constant inflows: together, they approach 1.1 million BTC related to Satoshi Nakamoto.

The idea is to bring simplicity and security to investors,” says an analyst at BlackRock. A successful bet, with constant investment flows and a performance that crushes the competition.

Stock Market and Bitcoin: An Explosive Duo

The impact of BlackRock is not limited to the crypto universe: its movements also influence Wall Street. The launch of the IBIT has redefined the Bitcoin ETF market, recording a record influx right from its start. At the same time, other players like MARA Holdings and Grayscale Trust are trying to catch up.

A notable case: MARA Holdings invested 618.3 million $ to acquire 6,484 BTC between October and November. However, these numbers remain modest compared to the behemoth BlackRock, whose methodical approach continues to attract institutional investors.

In a context where bitcoin is becoming a new safe haven amid economic uncertainties, the leverage created by these ETFs is undeniable.

In conclusion, with a treasure of BTC exceeding 500,000 units, BlackRock is once again revolutionizing finance by launching options on Bitcoin ETFs. Introduced on November 19, this instrument generated 1.9 billion $ in transactions on its first day, confirming the irresistible appeal of this unparalleled player.
