Bitcoin: Europe Leads the Way With Unprecedented Crypto Investment Surge!
Fueled by Bitcoin and Ethereum, cryptocurrencies are gaining momentum in Europe. According to a recent Bloomberg report, the old continent injected more than 43 million dollars into crypto funds last week. This enthusiasm contrasts with American and Asian skepticism.
Bitcoin Still Dominates Fund Inflows
For the 11th consecutive week, crypto funds have recorded net capital inflows, even if the pace has slowed after several spikes. This suggests that some investors are exercising more caution due to price volatility.
Unsurprisingly, Bitcoin captures the majority of the new capital with 20 million dollars in net inflows over the past week. Since January, the king of cryptos has drawn 1.7 billion dollars, a sign of continued interest despite a price still far from its all-time high.
However, 8.6 million dollars also flowed into short Bitcoin funds, with some investors betting on a downward turn after the spectacular surge in recent months.
Meanwhile, Ethereum boasts a net collection of 10 million dollars over the last 7 days. The second-largest crypto by market capitalization thus marks its 6th consecutive week of positive inflows, after having suffered 125 million withdrawals at the start of 2023.
Ultimately, the annual balance becomes positive again at 19 million, proof of a clear resurgence of investor interest in the Ethereum ecosystem.
Europe Leads, Asia Lags Behind
According to Bloomberg, Europe stood out last week with 43 million injected into crypto funds as this market continues its rebound.
In terms of geographic areas, Europe dominates significantly while the United States peaks at 14 million. Notably, half of this is attributed to short positions, indicating that many American investors doubt the continuation of the rally. Meanwhile, Hong Kong and Brazil even recorded net outflows of 8 and 4.6 million respectively.
In short, the crypto market remains attractive in the eyes of investors at large. Bitcoin and Ethereum monopolize the main incoming flows, even though speculative appetite also leads to growing interest in short strategies.
At this stage, Europe is emerging as the most dynamic zone. It remains to be seen whether this momentum can be sustained, while Asia appears more cautious. Caution could spread if the price rebound begins to falter.
