Elon Musk warns of the dangers of artificial intelligence or AI from OpenAI

Elon Musk Sounds the Alarm on OpenAI’s Q-Star (Q*) AI Project

Elon Musk had said that artificial intelligence (AI) will spell doom for mankind on Earth. Today, more than ever, the billionaire stands by this idea. This Thursday, November 23rd, the owner of X voiced his concerns regarding Q-Star (Q*).

Q-Star (Q*) is an artificial intelligence project currently under development at OpenAI. When launched, the initiative could greatly exceed human capabilities in a much broader spectrum of tasks. But that’s not all.

Specifically, this AI could even change the game in scientific research. The reason being, Q* is based on general artificial intelligence (AGI). This is a type of AI that is characterized by its ability to understand, learn, and adapt to a wide variety of tasks.

The potential is all the more impressive since the Q* initiative promises, once operationalized, to do all of this completely autonomously. The prospect is indeed ambitious, but also immensely concerning, and not just for Elon Musk.

Q-Star (Q*), the Reason for the Saga Around Sam Altman’s Departure?

Elon Musk’s statements suggest that the saga surrounding Sam Altman’s resignation from the leadership of OpenAI may actually be related to the development of Q*. Until now, it was believed that this AI pioneer’s departure was due to internal disagreements over the pace of development.

It seems that the ambitious nature of Q* has sparked discussions within the OpenAI community forum. Several members raised ethical concerns about the direction the organization is taking with this technology.

Therefore, it appears that the Q* AI project was one of the key issues that led to Sam Altman’s departure from the CEO position at OpenAI. A short-lived departure, as more than 700 employees threatened to resign and join Microsoft, forcing the leader’s return. In light of these developments, the future trajectory of OpenAI, its ethical considerations, and the potential impact of Q* on society will be subjects of intense scrutiny. This applies both within the company and in the broader technology community, including the crypto industry.
