The Web3 industry shows remarkable optimism, with over 86% of professionals expressing confidence in the future of crypto, according to a recent report by Consensys. This positive outlook persists despite the current regulatory uncertainty, especially as the 2024 US elections approach.

Web3 Pros Confident in Crypto Despite Challenges

The confidence of Web3 professionals is rooted in deep motivations. Sarah Howe, Head of Talent Acquisition at Consensys, emphasizes: “The mission of blockchain technology and the values of Web3 – decentralization, freedom, innovation, transparency, and self-sovereignty – strongly motivate these professionals.” This vision inspires 75% of employees to stay in the sector, far beyond mere social benefits.

The study highlights an interesting paradox: while 67% of professionals receive their compensation solely in fiat currency, a majority aspire to more crypto payments.

Indeed, 51% of respondents would prefer a mix of traditional and crypto currency, compared to only 30% satisfied with payments exclusively in fiat currency.

A Work Mode in Line with the Blockchain Spirit

The decentralized nature of blockchain is reflected in the organization of work. The survey reveals that 77% of Web3 professionals work remotely, and over 75% identify as digital nomads.

Sarah Howe explains: “This lifestyle is naturally suited to Web3 professionals. It aligns with the fundamental values of the sector: decentralization and autonomy.” She adds that this flexibility offers “global job opportunities and better control over professional status.”

The study, conducted by YouGov among 30 Web3 organizations, including the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance, reveals a sector in full swing. Despite regulatory uncertainties, the commitment of professionals and their adherence to Web3 values suggest a promising future for this constantly evolving industry.
